Compression underwear after mammoplasty is special underwear that is worn after breast augmentation, reduction, or lift immediately after surgery. Underwear after mammoplasty is the only option! It helps prevent the most common complications after breast augmentation.

According to our clients, the first sensations after putting on compression underwear are wonderful – the feeling of “heaviness of the chest” disappears, as the compression bra redistributes pressure from the affected areas of the chest to the unaffected ones. The ability to take a deep breath is what patients like.
Composition of compression garments after mammoplasty
A compression bra is in many ways similar to a casual bra, but has its own characteristics.

Compression underwear after mammoplasty should be easy to open for examination by a doctor, for dressings, for placement of drains. A front fastener and unfastened straps allow easy opening and removal of the compression bandage in a lying position.
Sometimes we encounter compression bandages on patients whose purpose is opposite to the indications after mammoplasty – redness and skin irritation are observed. The most common reason is the mesh, transparent fabric of such a bra. We ask you to immediately contact a plastic surgeon and promptly eliminate the discomfort.
The second feature is the forming cups. They allow the implants to shift. The stabilizing anatomical tape also prevents the implants from shifting during movement.

Advantages of compression garments after mammoplasty
Compression underwear after mammoplasty, when used for the full period, allows:
- to form the desired breast shape and stabilize the implants
- reduce the risk of infection
- minimize the risk of keloid scars at the suture site
- minimize swelling and bruising
- speed up healing and recovery
- reduce pain
2STEP-program of underwear after mammoplasty
You will get the best results after mammoplasty by using two compression bras. And these bras are not the same, but different!

At the request of plastic surgeons and clients who use compression garments after mammoplasty, a 2STEP program of garments after breast augmentation has been developed.
In the first two weeks after mammoplasty, you need to wear a top with normal compression, and from the third week, start wearing underwear with light compression. Visual differences can be seen in the blog How long should you wear compression underwear after breast augmentation? , where this is discussed in detail.
Types of compression garments after mammoplasty
A post-mammoplasty bandage is a universal underwear with its own features. Bandages can be with or without an anatomical stabilizing tape, the stabilizing tape can be sewn onto the underwear or be removable, the bra itself is fastened with hooks or a zipper.
Each compression top has its own purpose, but this is a topic for a separate post. As soon as we write it, we will put a link here.

It is worth noting that our clients also buy the light compression top used in the 2STEP program after breast augmentation for everyday use after full recovery from mammoplasty. This bra is worn at home, in the gym, and worn on flights and trips. Comfortable, supportive, seamless, and without underwire! You can’t think of a better compression bra after mammoplasty.
How to choose the right compression garment after mammoplasty
The selection of compression underwear should be based on the wishes of the plastic surgeon. This is not the color, but the presence or absence of an anatomical tape, the method of fastening and the model of underwear.

Sometimes clients choose a second compression top after mammoplasty on the website, using their criteria for selection. We do everything to offer the client the right bandage by trying on several items of underwear. However, such a strategy is not possible for clients not in the cities of our presence.
How to wear compression underwear correctly? and How to choose compression underwear correctly? are separate posts on our blog. People often ask such questions after mammoplasty.
How long should you wear compression garments after mammoplasty?
The plastic surgeon will answer this question at the first consultation or in the chatbot (!!!) during the first online consultation. The plastic surgeon will determine the period of wearing compression garments — he is responsible for the final result.
Many clients wear our compression garments after the initial necessary period to improve their well-being and self-reassurance according to the principle “it’s better to wear it longer, it won’t hurt anyway”. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Love yourself!
There is no exact answer about the period of wearing a bandage after mammoplasty. Surgeons differ in the duration of such a period. According to our observations, this is due to the peculiarities of mammoplasty in each specific case. The volume of the implant, body type, thickness of the skin and 1000 more factors influence the surgeon’s conclusion about the necessary period of wearing underwear. Manufacturers of compression underwear state that their observations indicate an average of 9 weeks of wearing compression underwear. Most of this period is underwear with light compression.
We recommend wearing compression underwear longer than the recommended period, putting it on at night. During the recovery period, it is necessary to form the capsule we need around the implants as an indispensable condition for successful mammoplasty.
Bras after mammoplasty
It is recommended to choose a bra after mammoplasty a month after mammoplasty! We choose a bra without underwire and without push-up. It should be comfortable and pleasant to the touch.

It is not recommended to wear a bra with underwire for the first six months after the operation. Moreover, such a bra should not press in the intermammary space, and also in the lower pole of the mammary gland the underwire should not press on the skin. It is forbidden to wear push-up bras after mammoplasty. Now it is not needed and for free!!!
